I believe that therapy is an experience that is co-created; the therapist brings their clinical expertise, but you are the true expert on yourself, your story, and the life you want to lead. To support this journey, I take an integrative approach that is tailored to you and what will best support your healing and growth. Theories that I use include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), systems-based perspectives, and psychodynamic approaches including ego state therapy (EST). I am also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), which can be a powerful tool for a wide variety of concerns.

My primary area of specialization is in working with adults and young adults who have experienced trauma – including physical or sexual trauma, social ostracization and rejection, exposure to violence or death, or adverse experiences with caregivers or families. With ten years of experience in the mental health field, I also work with people around concerns of depression and anxiety, identity exploration and formulation, sexuality and gender issues, attachment and family of origin issues, personality concerns, and issues within interpersonal relationships.

I also work with couples who are working to strengthen their connection, better understand each other and themselves, and learn to be with each other in a new way. With the use of Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, I help couples get to the root of issues that arise, untangle patterns that aren’t serving the relationship, and rebuild a sense of safety, trust, and closeness.

I approach my work with warmth and compassion and seek to create a therapeutic space that is welcoming, safe, and affirming of all intersecting identities. As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community myself, I highly value the practice of LGBTQIA+ and Gender Affirmative therapy. It is my hope that these elements can empower you to deepen the exploration of who you are and to write the story of who you seek to be.
